The Cosmology of A Course In Miracles

An Irrefutable Cosmological Argument
Requiring only the admission of a singularly inclusive,
eternally creating Universal Mind

The only thing in all the universe that does not know what it is,
is an apparent objective condition that calls itself a "Human Being."
This condition is momentary and completely transient. It is a unique manifestation of an impossible correlation of a temporal/spatial awareness with the being of eternal reality.

The world is nothing in itself. Your mind must give it meaning. And what you behold upon it are your wishes, acted out so you can look on them and think them real. Perhaps you think you did not make the world, but came unwillingly to what was made already, hardly waiting for your thoughts to give it meaning. Yet in truth you found exactly what you looked for when you came.

This world was over long ago. The thoughts that made it are no longer in the mind that thought of them and loved them for a little while. The miracle but shows the past is gone, and what has truly gone has no effects. Remembering a cause can but produce illusions of its presence, not effects.

You think you live in what is past. Each thing you look upon you saw but for an instant, long ago, before its unreality gave way to truth. Not one illusion still remains unanswered in your mind. Uncertainty was brought to certainty so long ago that it is hard indeed to hold it to your heart, as if it were before you still.

You are the cause of this world.

There is no such thing as what appears to be your objective self!

Such is each life; a seeming interval from birth to death and on to life again, a repetition of an instant gone by long ago that cannot be relived. And all of time is but the mad belief that what is over is still here and now.

Time lasted but an instant in your mind, with no effect upon eternity. And so is all time past, and everything exactly as it was before the way to nothingness was made.

You are repeating the momentary act of separation over and over and over.

There is no world without you.
There is no Heaven without you.
And anything not in Heaven is not real.

As you look with open eyes upon your world, it must occur to you that you have withdrawn into insanity. You see what is not there, and you hear what makes no sound. Your manifestations of emotions are the opposite of what the emotions are. You communicate with no one, and you are as isolated from reality as if you were alone in all the universe. In your madness you overlook reality completely, and you see only your own split mind everywhere you look.

All objective reality is only your projection. You suffer from the disease of
self-identity. You are seeing projections of your own genetic makeup.

At no single moment does the body exist at all. It is always remembered or anticipated, but never experienced just Now. Only its past and future seem real.

Each one peoples his world with figures from his individual past, and it is because of this that private worlds do differ.

It is through these strange and shadowy figures that the insane relate to their insane world. For they see only those who remind them of these images, and it is to them that they relate. Thus do they communicate with those who are not there, and it is they who answer them.

And no one hears their answer save him who called upon them, and he alone believes they answered him. The world you see has nothing to do with reality. It is of your own making and it does not exist. Everyone must come to know there is no world.

There is no world apart from what you wish, and herein lies your ultimate release. Change but your mind on what you want to see, and all the world must change accordingly. Ideas leave not their source. You are the dreamer of the world of dreams. No other cause it has, nor ever will.

The Manner of The Miracle:
I do not know what anything, including this, means.
And so I do not know how to respond to it.
And I will not use my own past learning as the light to guide me now.

The miracle does nothing. All it does is to undo. And thus it cancels out the interference to what has been done. It does not add, but merely takes away. And what it takes away is long since gone, but being kept in memory appears to have immediate effects.

There is no world! This is the central thought the course attempts to teach.
